Hotel Mil810 in Ushuaia

In my adventures for Argentina, Uruguay and Antarctica 2009, the last "non-mobile" accommodation I will go through is in Ushuaia

Ushuaia, "end of the world, beginning of everything", is the southernmost city in the world. Its privileged situation means that we are in a privileged place, surrounded by snowy mountains and in the Beagle Channel.

A city as small as Ushuaia does not require much "head comedura" to choose an accommodation with a good location, which is usually one of the requirements for which we are governed more often. So we opted for the Hotel Mil810, a modern hotel just opened and next to the main (and only) street of the city.

The Web The hotel, like this one, is very complete and very well designed. In fact, the reservation from the own web It does not generate any problem, although taking advantage of flight management, I made the reservation with Tuareg trips.

The price not the most affordable of the trip. The single room per night is around $ 100 USD

The Location The hotel is on 25 de Mayo Street, right next to San Martin Avenue (main) and a few meters from the Port from where I will embark on the Antarctic adventure.

The rooms They are classic style, with 27 'television, safe, minibar, heating, telephone, work desk, ... and the bath, equally wide, bath products and dryer. It has 30 rooms.

Being a new hotel, the cleaning It is absolute.

Other outstanding services are to have a restaurant on the 4th floor with privileged views, WIFI, computer room, laundry,…

Let's make a "GUIDED VISIT of the hotel already back from the trip ...

The impressions that I bring from the hotel are quite disparate, and I guess a lot of them because the staff is still starting. And it is that the first contact with the receptionists of the hotel, before worrying about the suitcases (of which they do not worry) or other things, is to sign multitude of papers, even the one of which the minibar has what puts in a paper. My idea of a client in a hotel is very different, since I understand that as a client they have to make things easier for me and not complicate them.

Another downside is his Location. Being less than 10 min from the Port and less than 3 min from the main street, however it is on a very hard steep street. I think there are better options.

However, the rooms They are really more than they offer, thought to the last detail. The views, depending on the floor you touch, also exceptional.

He bathLike the room, it is spacious, clean and has all kinds of accessories and bath gels.

Although, without a doubt, the best thing about the hotel is its restaurant on the 4th floor. There they serve the breakfast buffet, which, although not excessively complete, is complemented by excellent views.

From there, taking the "vitamins" that prevent dizziness (haha) I could see the entrance of the Expedition Ship, Professor Molchanov, which would take us to Antarctica.

Another downside is that the WIFI worked out of grief. It connected and disconnected continuously, other times not even connected.

The we would recommend? NO. For the price that has too many lacks or problems that makes me sincerely believe that there are better options in location, care and services.
